Crews Douse 3 Fires Along I-680 In Contra Costa County

The fires near Martinez prompted lane closures as crews responded to the blazes.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Firefighters doused three separate vegetation fires that broke out Monday along Interstate 680 between Pacheco and Marina Vista.

At 2:19 p.m. Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said forward progress was stopped on all three fires along northbound I-680.

Two northbound lanes remained closed for a time, and crews remained on the scene for several hours ensuring there were no hotspots.

The cause of the fires was not known Monday afternoon, Con Fire said.
