Gift 4Martinez: City Launches Shop Local Initiative

MARTINEZ, CA — The city of Martinez is encouraging community members to shop local this holiday season by offering a 50 percent bonus match on all Gift 4Martinez e-gift cards.

"Small businesses are essential to a strong community and need our support more than ever," the city said in a news release. "The Gift 4Martinez e-gift card makes it fun and easy to keep holiday spending local."

Gift 4Martinez e-gift cards can be used at participating shops, which currently include Five Suns Brewery, East Bay Artisan, Games of Martinez, JP's Bistro, Knots and Found, Julian's Restaurant, Lavender Moon Interiors, Pandora's Box. Retro Now, Shuck It Oysters, Yo Sushi, Gilded Frond Clay + Textiles and more!

The City of Martinez in partnership with the Martinez Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Martinez and Company launched Gift 4Martinez after seeing similar successful programs operate in Pleasant Hill, Pinole, Benicia and elsewhere.

The Martinez City Council recently approved the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds for the program with the aim of continuing to support economic recovery in Martinez.
