Harley-Davidson Rider Dies In Contra Costa Crash: CHP

The fatal collision happened on Pacheco Boulevard in unincorporated Martinez.

MARTINEZ, CA β€” A motorcyclist died in a collision with a parked vehicle Sunday in Martinez, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers were advised around 4:30 p.m. Sunday about the crash on Pacheco Boulevard at Palm Avenue in an unincorporated county area of Martinez. A Harley-Davidson rider was traveling eastbound on Pacheco when the motorcycle collided with a Nissan truck, the CHP said.

The truck was legally parked and no one was inside it when the crash occurred, the CHP said.

Emergency personnel arrived and took the rider to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the CHP said.

The Contra Costa County coroner's office was expected to release the man's identity once his next of kin were notified.
