Everyone I know, from my teenaged granddaughter to the old newspaper broads I hang out with in our beloved Martinez thought “The King’s Speech” was the best movie they’d seen in years. Why? I think it was because it showed the human effort of a reluctant leader who chose to stand as a symbol of resistance under the overwhelming odds of that particular age. He could have slipped into the protection of his rank; instead he worked at overcoming a physical/emotional problem that would have compromised his effectiveness.

I don’t think it was an either/or about what movie was the best. It was simply that “The King’s Speech” spoke to the human soul. Enough! I enjoy your new effort on Patch, anyway.
