Letter To The Editor: We Need More Deer Crossing Signs

In an effort to increase public awareness, I believe we need Deer Crossing signs throughout Martinez, especially on the main roads coming into and going out of town such as Marina Vista/Escobar, Berrellessa Street, and Alhambra Avenue.

I have seen far too many innocent dead deer. People are not aware of how frequently the deer cross over these roads. I hope it is not going to take the life of a human being, (crashing their car to avoid hitting a deer) for this issue to be addressed.

I cannot the stress enough the importance of putting up caution signs. In the meantime, I have every intention of making homemade signs and posting them in areas where deer are known to cross.
