Man Dies In Martinez Head-On Collision
Police are still investigating the fatal Alhambra Avenue crash.
MARTINEZ, CA — A 60-year-old man died Friday afternoon in a head-on collision in Martinez, police said. Officers responded at 2:38 p.m. following a report of the collision at Alhambra Avenue and Alhambra Valley Road.
Police said the 60-year-old man was found unresponsive behind the wheel and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police said neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a role in the collision.

Update: Alhambra Ave between John Muir Rd and Alhambra Valley Rd is currently closed in both directions due to a fatal accident investigation. The roadway is anticipated to be closed for several hours. No further details are being released at this time. Please avoid the area.
