Martinez to Hold Community Workshop Friday on Commercial Signs

Local business owners are invited to attend a community workshop about the commercial sign ordinance in Martinez on Friday.

The workshop will review and discuss the requirements and code enforcement of temporary and supplemental commercial signs. It takes place at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. 

The City Council displayed a slideshow of the rules for temporary and commercial signs at its Sept. 4 council meeting.

Recent changes to the ordinance include its enforcement. Historically, the sign ordinance was enforced by the Martinez Public Works Department, but that responsibility recently shifted to the Police Department.
