Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Crash In Martinez Monday Night

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash late Monday night in Martinez, police said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash late Monday night in Martinez, police said.

At 11:21 p.m. on May 8, police were dispatched to a downed motorcycle in the 1800 block of Marina Vista, and upon arrival, officers say they located a man about 30 years old down in the roadway near a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The man is believed to have been the only rider of the motorcycle, police said.

Officers rendered medical aid and were relieved by fire crews who took over. The motorcyclist was then transported to a nearby trauma center and is currently in critical condition, police said.

The crash is under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest no other vehicles were involved, police said.
