Multi-Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic on Hwy 4

The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. and involved at least three vehicles.

Three lanes of state Highway 4 in unincorporated Contra Costa County near Pittsburg were closed due to a crash Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, involving at least three cars, was reported at about 6 a.m. on westbound Highway 4, just west of Bailey Road, the CHP said.

One person was thrown from a car in the crash, but was seen conscious and walking, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert was issued just before 6:30 a.m. with the three right lanes blocked by the crash, the CHP said.

The roadway was expected to reopen at about 7:15 a.m., according to the CHP.
