Police: Woman Just Released Says She Wants Back In Jail

MARTINEZ - A woman who claimed she wanted to go to jail before an arrest allegedly vandalized vehicles outside the Martinez Detention Facility upon her release early Monday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s officials said Chelsy Ginochio, 35, was arrested again after she vandalized vehicles following her release from county jail at 1000 Ward St. in Martinez at about 5:30 a.m. today.

As soon as she was released, Ginochio went to the parking lot of the jail and vandalized five vehicles, sheriff’s officials said. She allegedly smashed the cars’ front and rear windows, scratched glass and broke windshield wipers.

A deputy heard the sound of windows being smashed while coming into work, sheriff’s officials said.

A group of deputies eventually took Ginochio into custody. She allegedly resisted arrest and one of the deputies suffered a knee injury, sheriff’s officials said.

Ginochio had been released Monday after being arrested by Antioch police in connection with another vandalism incident. She was allegedly throwing rocks at cars and a hospital door in Antioch.

According to sheriff’s officials, she apparently said she wanted to go to jail.

She was arrested today on suspicion of vandalism and a probation violation and was once again booked into Martinez Detention Facility.
