Relay For Life - They Walked for a Cure
This past weekend, many Martinez people walked the track of Las Juntas Elementary to help fight cancer.
On Saturday, July 30 through Sunday, July 31, nearly 150 people and 21 teams walked around the track at Las Juntas Elementary School to support the fight against cancer.
The Relay For Life event began with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. and closed the following day at 9:45 a.m. In between, 145 people walked around the track in memory of those who have lost the fight with cancer, and those who have survived.
According to the event website, over $18,000 was raised in donations.
