Small Quake Rattles Through the East Bay
Martinez feels a little bit of the tremblor.

A few hours after a 5.8 earthquake shook up the citizens of the eastern seaboard, a small tremblor rattled through the East Bay on the Hayward Fault Zone.
The quake measured 3.6, and a few minutes later a smaller quake measuring 2.3 followed. There were no reports of damage from the quake.
The U.S. Geologic Survey logged the shock at 11:36:54 p.m. and fixed its position as 5.7 miles subsurface and six miles east southeast of Oakland on the Hayward Fault Zone.

Residents reported feeling a sharp jolt lasting roughly two seconds.
