Stolen Mail, Fake ID: Police Bust Solano Man
After searching the suspect and vehicle, police say they discovered he had mail belonging to about 30 victims.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A man has been arrested in Antioch on suspicion of identity theft after he was found in possession of false identification and mail that did not belong to him, police said.
At 7:47 a.m. Jan. 31, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a suspicious occupied vehicle located in the 2000 block of Eucalyptus Way.
The reporting party informed dispatchers that the suspect matched the description of a mail theft suspect they saw on the Next Door application, police said.

After searching the person and the vehicle, officers discovered that the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Joseph Malfitano, had mail belonging to about 30 victims, police said.
Malfitano also had an altered driver's license that had his image, but displayed a victim's personal information, according to police.
