UPDATE: Two Dead, Third In Critical Condition After I-680 Crash

At about 8:05 p.m., police responded to a report of a collision near the Interstate Highway 680 off-ramp to Contra Costa Boulevard.

UPDATE 10:15 a.m. MONDAY

PLEASANT HILL-Two people who died after their vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier and overturned in Pleasant Hill on Sunday night were identified Monday by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.

Coroner’s officials identified Emilio Lopez, 69, as the driver and Maria Lopez, 68, as the passenger who were seriously injured in the crash and later died.

A 78-year-old passenger was also in the car with the two Pleasant Hill residents, whose relation was not provided. Police said that woman is in critical but stable condition.

PLEASANT HILL - Two people died and one person is in critical but stable condition after a traffic accident on Interstate Highway 680 Sunday evening in Pleasant Hill, police announced Monday morning.

A 69-year-old male driver and a 68-year-old female passenger both died from their injuries at the hospital, according to police.

A 78-year-old female passenger remains in hospitalized, police said.
