Whiz Kid of the Week - Zoe Damon

Name: Zoe Damon

Age: 11

School: John Swett Elementary

Accomplishment: Zoe is an Award-winning photographer as well as an honor roll student and competitive dancer.

Key to Awesomeness: Zoe has always loved anything art related – painting, crafts, sewing, etc.  She first picked up a camera when she was about seven and it was immediately clear she had the photographer’s “eye.”  Her mother was amazed at the photos Zoe took of random household things. Not only were the pictures themselves well taken but the subjects chosen were thoughtful and photographed with perspective.

Throughout elementary school, Zoe entered her artwork into the PTA Reflections Art contest through the school district. This year, Zoe’s photo was chosen to compete regionally.

After hearing of her accomplishment, an artist/barista at the Virginia Hills Starbucks asked if she would like to display her photos at Starbucks.  Currently, she has two items on display and a customer has expressed interest in purchasing one of them.

In addition to her photography, Zoe maintains her honor roll status at school and dances competitively for Dance Connection Performing Arts Center.
