• Court hearing delayed for Menifee PD officer accused of sexual assault (menifee247.com) — Menifee residents should know that a local police officer’s court hearing on multiple serious felony charges has been delayed until late January, with additional proceedings set for February. The officer remains jailed without bail and on unpaid leave, while Riverside County investigators continue handling the case independently of Menifee PD.
   

• Dozens of California agencies shared license plate data with feds, Santa Cruz records show (santacruzlocal.org) — Menifee Police Department is among California agencies named in a review of how police used Flock license plate reader data, including searches tied to immigration-related terms. Santa Cruz officials are now tightening sharing rules and seeking assurances from agencies like Menifee Police that the data won’t be used for immigration enforcement or other illegal purposes.
