3 People Arrested For Trying To Have Sex With Minors In The Bay Area: Police
A multi-day sting operation thwarted the Bay Area residents who sought out minors for sex.
MENLO PARK, CA — Officers used social media platforms to pose as minors in order to find anyone seeking out children for sex, which resulted in three arrests on Wednesday in Menlo Park, police said.
Menlo Park Police Department detectives working with the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center said they were contacted by three suspects, who after learning of the minor's ages, arranged to meet with them at locations in Menlo Park.
On Wednesday, police said they arrested Arunkumar Kizhakke Unnikrishnan, 45, of Mountain View; Yony Trochez-Marinez, 33, of San Jose; and Jefferson Aldair Martinez Hernandez, 26, of Oakland, for attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sex crime or other serious felony, and arranging or meeting with a minor with the intent to engage in lewd or lascivious behavior.

They were all booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
"Sexual exploitation of children affects communities everywhere, including Menlo Park. The individuals arrested, traveled here specifically to victimize children, underscoring the importance of vigilance and proactive enforcement," police said.
