Drugstore Opening in Menlo Park

Patch reader Chris Watkins asked Patch whether the new drugstore in town would sell booze. Thanks for asking, Chris. Here's the answer.

CVS/ pharmacy will be opening a store in Menlo Park, Calif. next month, according to construction workers who are putting the building's interior together.

The question on the mind of one Patch reader is, "Will the store also sell beer and wine?"  Someone's ready for the weekend.  Just kidding, Chris.

The answer to your question is no, according to California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control records. No active or pending alcohol permit exists for that suite in the strip mall that is located at 700 El Camino Real.

When will you be able to transfer your prescriptions from the Town & Country location to this one, you ask?

Construction workers expect to finish the job by the end of the month. If all goes as planned, the store will open doors to the public in late April.

Anyone who does visit the new drugstore and is in the mood for an alcoholic beverage, certainly is not without options; the new CVS/ pharmacy is flanked by busineses with permits to sell booze.

To the left of the new store, MP Mongolian BBQ has an active permit to sell beer and wine.  Anyone in the mood for something a bit stronger can visit which is located to the right of where the new CVS/ pharmacy will be.
