3 Apartments Damaged, 5 Residents Displaced In Mill Valley Fire

A total of 15 apparatus and 35 fire personnel responded to the incident.

MILL VALLEY, CA —Three apartments were damaged and five residents displaced in a blaze in a Mill Valley apartment building Saturday, the Southern Marin Fire Protection District said.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., Marin County Fire Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the fire at 2226 Shelter Bay Ave., according to fire officials. Firefighters fully contained the blaze by 3:45 p.m. No injuries have been reported.

The fire originated in one of the residential units, and two neighboring units sustained smoke and water damage, displacing a total of five residents, officials said. The Red Cross assisted two of the displaced residents by providing temporary lodging.

A total of 15 apparatus and 35 fire personnel responded to the incident. In addition to Central Marin Fire, the Marin County and Tiburon fire departments, Mill Valley police and PG&E responded to the blaze.

A fire investigator from the Southern Marin Fire Protection District is investigating the cause of the fire.
