Mill Valley Accepting Applications for Volunteer Firefighters

The Mill Valley Fire Department is accepting applications for Mill Valley Volunteer Firefighter. There is a 30 minute drive time requirement for the new volunteers this year. Inteviews to be held in November.

Applicants that pass an interview, physical and background process will attend an eight day intensive fire academy that will begin on January 6th and run eight consecutive Sundays from 8-5 PM. The academy will cover primary aspects of structural firefighting operations.

After completing the academy volunteers will work 48 hours a month on the Engine Company and with Paramedics. Volunteers will also be expected to attend monthly trainings and support volunteer association activities. For more information, please contact Battalion Chief St. John at 415/389-4140.
