Mill Valley Teachers and Students to Swim in the Bay to Fight Pediatric Cancer on Sat
On Saturday September 29th at 9:00 a.m., students from Mount Tamalpais School and Mill Valley Middle School, along with some teachers will brave the chilly San Francisco waters to raise money for pediatric cancer research.
Several of the swimmers are cancer survivors themselves. The 200 participants will jump off a Hornblower yacht under the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge. Guided by a flotilla of kayaks, boats, and jet skies they will swim 1.5 miles to the beach at Crissy Field.
Over the past seven years Swim Across America San Francisco has raised 1.5 million dollars for Oakland Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer Research, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Survivors of Childhood Cancer Program.
