August 6

6:06 p.m. – A resident reported that the school crossing sign at Sycamore Ave. and Camino Alto broke off because of rust and was laying in the road. City workers retrieved the sign and took it to the corporation yard.

7:38 p.m. – Several teens were seen drinking in a silver BMW on Cascade Way and Molino Ave. before driving off.

August 7

12:28 p.m. – An employee of the Whole Foods Market on East Blithedale reported that a white male teenager stole several items and fled out of the back of the store onto Lomita Drive. Police later apprehended the teen.

August 8

4:06 p.m. – A silver Honda drove off the road on Ashford Ave., through some shrubs and hit a sign, according to a driver who reported the incident.

10:40 p.m. – A resident of Vasco Drive reported that his neighbors had built a skateboard ramp outside their home and were making too much noise.

August 9

11:51 a.m. – A resident of Glen Drive reported that he left his Toyota Camry unlocked overnight and it was broken into, with someone stealing a $2,000 laptop.

August 11

10:49 a.m. – Police were called to the 100 block of Lomita Drive on a report that a dog had been outside barking for three hours and that it was an ongoing problem. Police determined that a small dog was yipping inside a nearby home. No violation.
