City Hall Lands New Clerk
City Manager Jim McCann hires 27-year-old assistant planner from Belvedere to take over reins from Kimberly Wilson, who heads to the fire department.

The City of Mill Valley announced the hiring of Kelsey Rogers as the new city clerk Thursday, replacing current clerk Kimberly Wilson, who is shifting to an administrative role at the .
Rogers, 27, was most recently an assistant planner with the City of Belvedere and previously spent four years as deputy city clerk for the City of Malibu in southern California. She lives in Homestead Valley with her husband, Ian Rogers.
"Kelsey is a talented professional with local government experience,” City Manager Jim McCann said in a statement. “She is intelligent, well organized and will be a great addition to the city staff. I am confident that she will do well in this new assignment.”

McCann said Rogers will oversee the operations of the City Clerk’s office, which includes City Council legislative actions, proceedings and minutes; City Municipal Code, ordinances and resolutions; coordination of municipal elections and maintenance of all official City records. Rogers will also provide analytical help on budget preparation and oversight, grant management, risk management as well as special projects and reports.
Rogers holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of California, Irvine and is completing her Master’s degree in Public Administration through Cal Lutheran University.

“I look forward to my new position and working with city staff and the community,” Rogers said in an email.
Rogers begins her new position Oct. 31. She replaces Wilson, who is moving to the fire department to replace Barbara Denson, who after 36 years at the department.
