“Breast Cancer: The Myths and Facts” Forum

The Center for Integrative Health & Wellness, a program of Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, CA, will host its third annual free community breast health forum on Tuesday, October 9, 5-8 pm, at the Mill ValleyCommunity Center.

“Breast Cancer: The Myths and Facts” features first-hand information from leading physician experts about breast cancer statistics, advances in breast cancer treatment and cancer prevention. Speakers include Dr. Bobbie Head, medical oncologist; Dr.Leah Kelley, breast surgeon, Dr. Francine Halberg, radiation oncologist; and Dr. Vida Campbell, radiologist specializing in breast imagine.

“Marin County has the unfortunate distinction of having one of the highest breast cancer rates in the country,” says Dr. Halberg. “That’s why one of Marin General Hospital’s key areas of expertise and focus is breast cancer. We believe that by educating women about breast cancer, we can provide a framework they can use tomake well-informed decisions concerning their breast health, and make choices that hopefully will reduce breast cancer rates.”
