False Alarm Leads To Arrest, Recovery Of Stolen Vehicle In Marin

The vehicle was returned to its owner after being processed for evidence, police said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A false alarm earlier this week at a Marin business helped lead to a suspect’s arrest and the recovery of a stolen vehicle, San Rafael police said.

Officers at around 7:45 p.m. Monday responded to the area of Fourth Street and Hetherton Street on the report of an alarm going off at a business, police said.

The first officer on the scene ran a license plate check on a vehicle in the parking lot that seemed suspicious, and the vehicle’s lone occupant was arrested in a high-risk stop after the officer determined the vehicle had been reported stolen, police said.
