Firefighters Halt Blaze Near Marin Freeway

The Sheriff's Office first reported the blaze Thursday in a 4:42 p.m. alert.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Firefighters in southern Marin County late Thursday afternoon quickly contained a small blaze near Highway 101.

The Marin City blaze triggered door-to-door evacuations, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office in a 5 p.m. alert said the fire’s forward progress had been stopped near a freeway onramp.

“Deputies have evacuated all residents who need to be evacuated at this time,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Avoid the area.”
