Late Night Car Wash, Loud Hedge Trimming and Siphoning Gas at Edna Maguire
This week's roundup of police activities also features a number of thefts, including $5,000 in recording microphones.

June 4
11:57 p.m. – A resident of the 200 bock of East Blithedale Ave. called police to report that a neighbor was using a power washer on his car. Police went to the scene and determined that the resident was simply using a hose. The resident agreed to stop washing his car due to the late hour.

7:34 a.m. – A tow truck driver was called to the 700 block of Miller Ave. to tow a purple PT Cruiser. Upon arrival, the driver determined that the registered owner of the car smelled of alcohol and that the car had extensive front-end damage. The car owner told the tow truck driver that he hit something on Miller Ave. but didn’t remember what or where. Police went to the scene and determined that the car owner had not been drinking.
11:01 a.m. – A resident of West Blithedale Ave. at Gardner St. reported that someone in the area was trimming bushes too loudly.

5:18 p.m. – An employee of the Cantina called police to report that two women who had been drinking and were intoxicated left the restaurant and were attempting to drive away. Police went to the scene but were unable to locate the alleged imbibers.
June 6
2:42 a.m. – A Valley Circle woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after a male subject called 911 and asked if police had received a call from that address. The caller hung up and police called back, with the man then telling police that his wife was abusive towards him. The woman was booked into Marin County Jail.
8:15 a.m. – A resident reported that a wallet was taken from an unlocked car parked in the area of Walnut and Locust avenues sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
June 7
3:10 a.m. – A resident of the 300 block of Sycamore Ave. called police to report that there was loud music being played in the backyard of a neighbor’s house, with men yelling and having a good time. Police went to the house and told the resident of the complaint. The resident said they were going to bed.
Police received a call one hour later – at 4:07 a.m. – about the same residence, with the caller complaining that people were in a hit tub on the deck being loud. Police again advised the resident of the complaint, and the resident said they were going inside for the night.
8:55 a.m. – A witness reported seeing a car side-swipe a tan Nissan Quest minivan in the parking lot of the Mill Valley Community Center, calling police and then directing the owner of the minivan to both the car that hit his and its owner, who was inside the gym. The parties exchanged insurance info.
2:56 p.m. – A resident old police that her daughter’s iPhone was stolen from the girls restroom at Tam High while she was distracted.
5:19 p.m. – Police received a report that a number of teenagers who had been drinking at a home on Alta Vista Ave. had left in a gold Toyota Sienna, heading towards downtown. There were approximately 6-7 teens in the car who were drinking vodka and beer before they took off. Police stopped the car and cited the teens before releasing them to the custody of their parents.
June 8
10:50 a.m. – Police received a report that a gold Toyota Corolla had stopped in the middle of Azalea Drive at Camino Alto as the driver was chasing after his dog, who’d jumped out of the car and started to run toward Kite Hill.
4:16 p.m. – A car was keyed in the back parking lot of Tam High.
June 9
7:18 a.m. – A resident of Shelter Bay Ave. reported that he went upstairs for five minutes, only to return to find a window of his Subaru Impreza smashed and his wallet taken.
7:49 a.m. – Police received a report of a cage with two dogs inside at a home in the 200 block of Corte Madera Avenue. One of the dogs was very thin. Marin Humane Society officials picked up the dogs a short time later.
4:17 p.m. – Police received a report of grand theft on the Depot Plaza when a resident returned to his Santa Cruz bike, which was locked up with his son’s bike, only to find the bike gone. The lock had been cut. The bike was valued at more than $400.
5:31 a.m. – Approximately $5,000 worth of recording microphones and other items were stolen from an underground garage of a home in the 400 block of Throckmorton Avenue. The incident occurred within the previous 10 days of the report. Entry to the garage was apparently gained through a broken window.
June 10
7:38 a.m. – Someone siphoned less than $100 worth of gas from a maintenance vehicle at the construction site of Edna Maguire Elementary School.
