Man Killed In Mill Valley Crash Identified

Investigators believe the driver suffered a medical event while driving near Miller Avenue and Camino Alto on Monday afternoon.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified a man who died Monday after crashing into three vehicles in Mill Valley.

According to the sheriff's office, a preliminary investigation suggests Robert Charles Brasch, 80, of Mill Valley, suffered a medical event before he lost control of his vehicle near Miller Avenue and Camino Alto.

First responders found him unconscious and in cardiac arrest inside his vehicle shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday. Medics removed Brasch from the vehicle and attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office said a determination on the cause and manner of death are pending the completion of investigations by the Mill Valley Police Department and the Coroner Division.

"A forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing is being completed today," the sheriff's office said Wednesday. "The Marin County Sheriff's Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Brasch."
