Members of the Marin County Assessment Appeals Boards hear appeals by property owners regarding value assessments by the County Assessor’s Office. Board members are appointed by the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
In recent years, the caseload of the state-mandated Assessment Appeals Board has necessitated hearings about every four weeks. There are two separate Appeals Boards, each with three members, and appeals are heard alternately by the two boards and may include additional meetings.
