Marin Freeway Crash Critically Injures 1

The crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the CHP said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA —A man was critically injured Tuesday night in a fiery Marin freeway crash, authorities said.

The driver of a BMW involved in the solo vehicle crash was at a local hospital as of Thursday morning, California Highway Patrol Officer Darrel Horner said.

The BMW overturned at around 8:30 p.m. occurred on northbound Highway 101 in Sausalito near Wolfback Ridge Road.

The driver is an adult male who could not be positively identified because they were not carrying official government ID at the time of the crash, Horner said.

Southern Marin Fire crews with help from the CHP and bystanders pulled the man from the burning vehicle.

“Please slow down and abide by posted speed limits,” Southern Marin Fire wrote on its Facebook page.

“The stretch between the #RobinWilliamsTunnel (Waldo Grade) and the lower portion of 101 in Sausalito/Marin City can be dangerous especially at high speeds.”
