Mill Valley Boy Killed In 4-Vehicle Crash
A GoFundMe has been created for the family of Liam Washington, 16, who was killed in the Sonoma County crash.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A 16-year-old killed over the weekend in a in a four-vehicle Sonoma County crash has been identified as a Mill Valley resident, The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports.
Liam Washington was pronounced dead at the scene of the Sunday morning crash that shuttered Highway 116 116 near Watmaugh Road in unincorporated Sonoma County for several hours, the California Highway Patrol said.
Four people were injured in crash, including Liam Washington’s twin brother, Lucas Washington, who was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to the report.

The Washington brothers were passengers in a 2017 Cadillac driven by a 24-year-old Marin man who is suspected of driving under the influence at the time of the crash, the report said.
Manessis T. Alexander of Novato was was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, according to the CHP. He was taken to a Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, according to the report.

A GoFundMe has been created to help the Washington family cover expenses.
The CHP said the collision happened at 11:13 a.m., after the Cadillac traveling westbound on SR-116 was seen passing cars over double yellow lines and driving into oncoming traffic, eventually crashing head-on with two other vehicles, then directly into the path of a fourth vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to Marin General Hospital. Her passengers weren't injured, nor were the driver and 5-year-old passenger of the third vehicle. The fourth vehicle's driver sustained minor injuries that didn't require transportation to a hospital.
Tamalpais High School principal J.C. Farr on Monday issued a statement notifying the community of Liam Washington’s death and Lucas Washington’s injury, the report said.
“Liam was a valued member of our student community and will surely be missed,” Farr said, identifying the twin brothers as sophomores at the school. “We are feeling his loss very deeply.”
The GoFundMe had raised over $44,500 as of Tuesday morning.
"It is with a broken heart that we ask for your support for our dear friend Solange whose 16 year old twin sons (Liam and Lucas Washington) suffered a car accident today. Liam did not survive the accident and Lucas is in critical condition,"organizer Manuella Yassa wrote on the GoFundMe page.
"Your support for Solange is appreciated as the road ahead will be difficult."
The Napa CHP office is investigating the incident.
