Missing Hiker Found In Marin County On Halloween
The hiker was reported missing after he went hiking on a mountain on Halloween afternoon.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A Halloween search and rescue mission was conducted Friday in Marin County as responders searched for a man reported missing on the north side of Mount Tamalpais.
At 11:20 p.m., Marin County Search and Rescue were called by police to look for a missing man on the mountain.
The man's wife, who had reported him missing, had last texted with him around 5:30 p.m., police said. He told her had been hiking since 2:30 p.m. and had made a wrong turn but knew where he was and it would take him 90 minutes to hike back to his car at Rock Springs trailhead, police said.

At around 2 a.m., a ground search team found the man above the Kent Trail near Van Wick Creek. Responderes gave him water and provided a medical assessment, determining he was in good condition.
The man walked back to the trailhead with the team and a deputy drove him back to his car.
He told the rescuers that his phone had died just before nightfall and due to darkness he ended up off the trail where he sustained a couple noninjury falls before deciding to stay put for the night.
He said he was dehydrated and grateful to be found and extricated.
