SAUSALITO, CA — The Bay Area's newest retreat — a pair of floating saunas — is coming to Sausalito's waterfront next month, SF Gate reported.

The newspaper called Fjord, an impressive engineering feat and a "floating marvel." The duo behind twin saunas and plunging decks in Richardson Bay aim to bring Norway to NorCal.

Marin resident Alex Yenni and his business partner Gabe Turner, have been working on the Finnish-style spa, Fjord, for about a year and a half, SF Gate reported. According to Yenni, it was quite the undertaking, but ultimately, he said he has been pleasantly surprised by its positive reception.

“I feel like we’re on the cusp of, kind of a renaissance in allowing a cool project to move forward,” he told SF Gate. “Or at least I hope so.”

Pre-sales are available for the new hot and sweaty (190 degrees) saunas and plunge decks, which are built in a Finnish style using local redwood. Each sauna can hold up to six guests. Find out more information here.
