New Muir Beach Firehouse To Be Funded By Memorial Day Barbecue

The Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department will host its 51st annual barbecue and fundraiser May 25.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The proceeds from this year’s Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department’s annual barbecue on May 25 will go directly to build a new firehouse near the Muir Beach Overlook.

The MBVFD started over 50 years ago and is made up of Muir Beach residents. They rely on fundraising and community support to fund their training and equipment needs.

The 51st annual barbecue will be held on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. There will be live entertainment provided by local bands Lumanation, a reggae rock group, and Andre’s All Stars, who perform classic rock and R&B.

Muir Beach firefighters will be tending the grills serving up barbecue chicken, crepes, vegetarian tamale lunches, handmade desserts, sodas, beer and wine. The day ends with a raffle.

Parking is $30 per vehicle and walk-in and bike-in guests can enter for $10.
