Pack of Dogs in a Prius, Bike and Booze Theft and Would-Be Power Steering Vandals

This week's roundup of police activities includes a number of thefts, from booze and bikes to cash, along with a report of some bizarre driving on Hwy. 101.

May 15

8:53 a.m. – A resident of Eucalyptus Knoll reported that his white and red Specialized mountain bike was stolen from his truck. The bike was locked to the truck and the lock was cut. The bike’s value was estimated at $1,200.

8:56 a.m. – After being notified that her credit card was used to make a $480 purchase at Best Buy’s website and an additional $15,000 had been attempted, a resident of Lovell Ave. notified police to file a report.

7:22 p.m. – A man reported seeing two people in his truck on Corte Madera Ave. and said that the subjects fled on foot towards City Hall as he approached them. When police arrived, the man said he didn’t actually see the subjects in his truck but saw them walking away from it with the interior lights in the truck illuminated. Nothing was missing or disturbed. Police located the suspects and determined that no crime had been committed.

12:48 p.m. – An employee of Safeway on Camino Alto reported that someone stole a couple of bottles of liquor and headed towards the parking lot. Police went to the lot but weren’t given a description of the suspect and couldn’t locate anyone who appeared to have stolen the booze.

1:52 p.m. – A driver reported seeing a blue Toyota sedan being driven by a white man weaving across lanes on southbound Highway 101 near the East Blithedale Ave. exit. The car stopped on the highway and the driver put the car in reverse, the witness reported. Police sent out a bulletin to all units and nearby agencies but were unable to locate the car.

May 17

2:01 a.m. – A resident called police to report hearing people screaming and whooping in the back parking lot of the 2am Club on Miller Avenue. The subjects were gone when police arrived.

May 18

12:28 p.m. – A resident of Sycamore Avenue reported an ongoing problem with a barking dog. Police left written notices regarding barking dog regulations at a pair of nearby homes.

5:29 p.m. – A resident reported seeing a white Prius with six or seven dogs inside parked near 21 Throckmorton Avenue. The resident noted that cars windows were left open a crack but that the car had been there for more than an hour. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

May 19

9:29 a.m. – A resident of Longfellow Road reported that his 1993 white Ford truck was vandalized as someone had punctured the truck’s power steering fluid and messed with its electrical system. Police determined that there was no merit to the report of vandalism.

1:42 p.m. – A resident reported that he parked his Toyota Highlander outside his parents home on East Blithedale Ave. across from Pharmaca and Cabana Home and came out to find it ransacked and $10 in quarters stolen from it. The SUV’s windows were rolled down.

11:25 p.m. – A resident reported that a group of juveniles were playing music and being loud at Edna Maguire School on Lomita Drive. Police went to the school and told the teens to disperse.

May 20

11:01 p.m. – A woman reported that her wallet was stolen in the Safeway parking lot but police found the wallet in the parking lot.

May 21

7:49 a.m. – A home on East Blithedale Avenue was burglarized. The home was accessed through a broken window in a back door and approximately $350 in cash was stolen. Police are investigating but have no suspects at this time.
