Police Blotter: Aug. 24-30
Some early morning taggers, a cat stuck in a wall and a wide variety of false alarms highlight this week's police logs.

Tuesday, Aug. 24
A two-year-old boy was found wandering around the parking lot of the Mill Valley Corp Yard at 1:45 pm, wearing a bike helmet and crying. The caller said that no parents had been around for at least 10 minutes. Another boy from a nearby day camp claimed the child and the little camper was reunited with the camp.
The cat of a resident of W. Blithedale Ave. got stuck in the wall or crawl space and the resident called police at 11pm. The Marin Humane Society needed a hazmat suit and required assistance. Police helped Marin Humane Society officials free the cat.

Wednesday, Aug. 25
Police received a report at 6:30am that juveniles were tagging graffiti under the Manzanita Bridge near the Manzanita Park-and-Ride lot. Officers responded and found three male juveniles, wearing all black, tagging area. Officers issued citations and transported the juveniles to the police station to have their parents pick them up.

Thursday, Aug. 26
A resident of Eldridge Ave. called at 9pm to report that someone rang her doorbell about 15 minutes prior but didn't see anyone at the door. Then she heard someone outside sneeze. The woman wanted an officer to "shine a flashlight" around the property. Officers responded and checked the area but were unable to locate any subjects.
Friday, Aug. 27
After she saw a car outside near her driveway several times over the past two days, a resident of Elm Ave. asked police at 9am to investigate. An officer responded and contacted the driver in question, only to learn that he was picking up the woman's neighbor for a car pool.
Saturday, Aug. 28
A woman reportedly tried to steal a can of hairspray from Safeway at 4:30pm and was detained by store personnel. An officer took a report.
Sunday, Aug. 29
A resident of E. Blithedale Ave. called police at 7am to report that a man was outside rummaging through the trunk of a vehicle. An officer responded and contacted the man, who was the registered owner of the car looking through the belongings in his trunk.
Upset that her neighbors were mowing their lawn, a resident of Tamalpais Ave. called police and stated that they were violating the city's noise ordinance. Police informed the woman that it is not against the city's noise ordinance for subjects to mow their lawns.
