Stolen Bikes Recovered After North Bay Thief Caught: Police

Police said they have seized at least three suspected stolen bicycles.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Sheriff's caught a 40-year-old bike thief was caught Tuesday in Marin County after officers became aware of a storage unit used to keep the stolen bicycles, police said.

The Marin County Sheriff’s investigations detectives arrested Kristopher Coy, 40, was arrested for grand theft, possession of stolen property, and a parole violation and booked into the Marin County Jail without bail, police said.

Coy was on parole for a theft related offense and was a suspect in a recent bike theft case from Southern Marin, police said.

After detectives learned of the storage unit using to hoard the bikes, police said they did a compliance check on Coy's parole status and found him unloading three bicycles from the unit, one of which was from a theft in Southern Marin the week prior.

The other two bikes are also suspected to be stolen, police said.
