Tam High Bomb Threat Under Investigation

Authorities conducted search of the campus for any explosive devices that took about two hours.

MILL VALLEY, CA — Authorities are investing the source of a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of Tamalpais High School on Wednesday, Mill Valley police said.

A school staffer at 9:20 a.m. received the call from a blocked number from a person who indicated bombs were on the campus and that the administration had 30 minutes to evacuate the school, police said.

School administrators immediately contacted authorities and implemented evacuation protocols, police said.

Students and staff were initially moved away from the buildings and onto the athletic fields.

Staff then escorted the students to a reunification point at the Mill Valley Community Center.

Authorities conducted search of the campus for any explosive devices that took about two hours.

Tiburon police, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, the California State Parks Police and six service K9s and handlers from the California Highway Patrol, BART Police, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, and the Department of Homeland Security assisted with the search.

The Berkeley Police EOD Unit responded to Mill Valley to assist with any devices that may have been located.
