Woman Killed After Car Hits CHP Vehicle In Sausalito
The CHP said a Toyota Corolla suddenly lost control and hit a CHP vehicle on Highway 101 Saturday morning.

SAUSALITO, CA — A woman was killed after her Toyota Corolla lost control and hit a CHP patrol vehicle on Highway 101 in Sausalito Saturday morning, officials said.
According to the CHP, just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, a CHP patrol unit happened upon an SUV that was blocking the slow lane of southbound 101 near Spencer Avenue. The SUV had spun out and crashed with an object, breaking its front axle.
A tow truck was called and CHP officers began laying a flare pattern.

An officer was getting safety equipment from the back of the vehicle when the Corolla traveling in the left lane suddenly lost control and began spinning towards the patrol vehicle, the CHP said. The officer was able to jump into the back seat of the patrol vehicle just as the Corolla hit.
The officer was taken to Marin General Hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries and released.

The driver of the Corolla had to be extricated and taken to the hospital where she died, according to the CHP.
