​Woman Who Died In House Fire In Marin County ID'd

Jodie Lynn Price, 51, was found dead along with her dog in the 700 block of Alta Vista Road in Tamalpais Valley.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Authorities in Marin County have identified a woman who died in a house fire near Mill Valley earlier this month.

Jodie Lynn Price, 51, was found dead along with her dog on Sept. 2 in the 700 block of Alta Vista Road in Tamalpais Valley.

The residential fire was reported early that morning. One occupant was able to escape the blaze, but Price was unable to and perished in the fire.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the front and right side of the home.

They immediately found the victim in a back bedroom, but Price had suffered significant burns and was declared dead at the scene, according to Southern Marin Fire Protection District Chief Christian Tubbs.

Though one dog died, four others were rescued, according to Tubbs.

The exact cause and manner of Price's death is still being determined by the medical examiner, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.
