This week President Trump announced the greatest rollback of protected public lands of any Administration in US history. Stripping back protected National Monuments at the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments in Utah have opened millions of acres to mining and drilling. Released this week, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke’s Revised Final Report to the President also places our biodiverse and pristine marine national monuments on the chopping block.

I personally have dived some of these islands and seen and documented their indescribable biodiversity and richness. This unprecedented act is an outright theft of our shared national treasures.

Please write or call the President or sign the petition asking him not to open our Marine National Monuments to remove protections from commercial fishing and other extractive activities.

The Pacific Remote Islands, Rose Atoll, and the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts marine national monuments need your voice. Tell President Trump to leave our national monuments alone, and maintain important protection for some of the healthiest coral reefs, seamounts, and marine wildlife.
