6 Milpitas Residents Displaced By Monday Morning House Fire
The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Manferd Street and prompted a multi-agency response. One pet died in the blaze.

MILPITAS, CA -- Six people were displaced in a house fire on Monday morning in Milpitas, fire officials reported.
The fire broke out at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 400 block of Manferd Street and prompted a multi-agency response to prevent neighboring homes from catching fire, according to officials.
Firefighters from Milpitas, Fremont and San Jose found heavy smoke and flames and used a chimney to extinguish the fire in the interior of the home.

Six people had safely evacuated the house by the time firefighters arrived but one pet died in the blaze, fire officials told Bay City News Service.
The displaced individuals were going to stay with family and didn't need American Red Cross support, but their home was seriously damaged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
