Bottoms Up at Newark Summerfest
The two-day outdoor festival features microbreweries and live music.
The third annual SummerFest brings live music, food and drinks to Newark this weekend, a stop off the Interstate 880 Stevenson Boulevard exit. Hosted by the Newark Chamber of Commerce, the outdoor festival will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on the parking lot between Sears and Macy's at NewPark Mall. This year’s theme is Microbrews and Music. The event will also feature a car show, microbreweries and wine-tasting. Guests will be able to purchase mugs with tokens so they can visit the various brewers on site. Families will also have a chance to buy products from commercial merchants and food from a variety of vendors. Children will be able to take part in arts and craft activities and play in a kids' zone, which will include jumpers and pony rides. A car show awards ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday. Individuals interested in registering for the car show can do so on site for $35, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday. See the attached PDF to learn more about registering. NewPark Street Eats will also take place during the two-day outdoor festival, bringing well-known gourmet food trucks into town. The Farmers' Market will take part in the festival on Sunday.
