Man Carrying Concealed Gun Arrested; 2 Juveniles Cited, Released

MILPITAS, CA -- An 18-year-old San Jose man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed gun and contributing to the delinquency of two minors resulting from a routine traffic stop, Milpitas police reported.

Jorge Antonio Vasquez was taken into custody and the two 17-year-old males he was with were cited and released to their parents after an officer stopped the car they were riding in on the 500 block of McCarthy Boulevard at 2:09 a.m. on March 3.

Officers indicated they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car and saw traces of marijuana on the Vasquez’ clothing. A search of the car turned up a loaded Smith and Wesson Model 469, 9mm caliber pistol, hidden under the front passenger seat. Officers also located a black ski mask and leather gloves near the firearm.

Vasquez was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
