Man Crashes Car In Alum Rock House, Faces DUI Charge: CHP

CHP reported the driver careened into cars on Stewart Ave. before crashing into a house in an Alum Rock neighborhood early Thursday morning.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Thursday morning after crashing into a house and several cars in San Jose's Alum Rock neighborhood, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to Stewart and Rose avenues at 4:21 a.m. on reports of a man who had driven a blue Dodge Charger into a home.

CHP Officer Ross Lee said the man hit several parked cars while driving down Stewart toward Rose, then made a 90-degree left turn into the front porch area of the last house on Stewart. The crash damaged wood paneling that leads into a crawl space, but the house didn't appear to be significantly damaged, according to Lee.
