Merryhill School Students Raise $7,000 for American Heart Association

Students slimed their teacher in celebration of raising money and awareness for the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge

Students at Merryhill Elementary School in San Jose recently raised more than $7,000 for the Kids Heart Challenge, an American Heart Association program that helps students improve their own health while raising life-saving donations to help kids facing heart-health issues. For the past month, students held online donation drives to raise money and awareness for the program. As a reward for their fundraising efforts, students slimed their physical education teacher Coach Lopez and participated in activities to learn how to take care of their hearts and brains, as well as ways to manage stress. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of taking care of their hearts and giving back to their community.
