Milpitas Candidates Declare Their Support for Advanced Transit Project
14 of 24 candidates vying to represent Milpitas residents support project with worldwide potential.

LoopWorks is pursuing a promising solution to our Climate Crisis that also mitigates traffic congestion – Personal Rapid Transit (PRT). Because the proposed $60M public transit infrastructure will benefit Milpitas residents in many ways, candidates were asked about their
level of support.
All 24 candidates vying to represent Milpitas residents in various government bodies
were sent a link to the survey. Both the survey and the introductory emails included a
link to a 4-minute video about the PRT project and LoopWorks – a video all Milpitas residents are encouraged to watch.
Topping the list of candidates that do support the project are Ro Khanna for Congress (CD 17), Aisha Wahab for State Senate (SD 10), and Alex Lee for Assembly (AD 24). Four of the six candidates for Milpitas Mayor support the project while two City Council candidates do. Some of the supportive candidates went further by endorsing the MOU presented to the City by LoopWorks, and even writing a letter of support. IPCC scientists have issued a Code Red, and the UN Secretary General António Guterres summed
up our situation starkly: “We have a choice. Collective action or collective suicide. It is in our hands.” LoopWorks is exploring a bold, out-of-the-box solution to dramatically reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector. The initial dual-loop system requires no funding from the City, but does require agreement from the City of Milpitas to the Memorandum of Understanding that lays out expectations for working together.
LoopWorks is a taxable non-profit mutual benefit corporation that is creating a smart transit system to serve the Metro Area around the Milpitas BART Transit Center using convenient and quick Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) technology. For more information, visit MilpitasPRT.com
