Police made several loudspeaker announcements and phone calls but were unable to reach the man. A judge authorized an arrest warrant and the police department called in a SWAT team. Due to the late hour, law enforcement waited to serve the warrant until Monday morning, but officers determined the man had not been inside the home and was still at large.
"To ensure the safety of the community, officers were deployed around the residence during the entirety of the incident," the department wrote on social media. "Although the presence of police activity can be unsettling, the Milpitas Police Department is committed to utilizing all available staffing and resources to maximize the safety of our officers and our community."
