Milpitas Man Accused Of Assault With A Deadly Weapon: MPD

The man is accused of charging a woman with a knife and threatening bystanders with it.

MILPITAS, CA — After a four-hour standoff that involved SWAT, a 49-year-old Milpitas man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon and resisting an officer Thursday near Temple Drive.

Milpitas Police responded to the 1600 block of E. Calaveras Boulevard at 11:31 p.m. to a suspect identified as Titans Quang Ho swinging a kitchen knife at a woman, who was able to avoid being cut. She sustained minor injuries from falling while eluding him. As Ho fled, he brandished the kitchen knife at nearby bystanders.

Based on information provided by witnesses and victims, officers determined Ho fled to his apartment on N. Temple Drive where he shut himself in his bedroom.

Officers attempted to contact him numerous times for him to come out and surrender, but he
refused to comply. As the standoff continued, members of the police department’s Hostage
Negotiation and SWAT teams responded to the apartment to ensure a safe outcome.

Ho was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of brandishing a weapon as well as resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer.
