Sleeping Suspect Arrested In Alleged Stolen Car By Police

An alert neighbor called in a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle parked in her neighbor's carport.

MILPITAS, CA -- Police arrested a San Jose man last week on suspicion of auto theft.

Arthur Jack Carson, 31, was taken into custody from the 50 block of Pimentel Circle on Jan. 9 and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle as well as a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He also had a probation violation.

The case stems on a call made at 11:40 a.m. by a resident of a suspicious vehicle identified as a 2010 blue Honda Accord parked in a nearby carport. When officers arrived and saw Carson sleeping inside the car, they found out the vehicle was stolen out of San Jose from a Jan. 3 report.
